As a Web Designer transitioning into UX, I craft engaging digital
experiences driven by user feedback and innovative design.
My focus is on enhancing usability and functionality, ensuring
every interaction feels intuitive and meets user needs.
Created a digital application for PetSmart employees to submit leave requests, view their vacation status, and made a messaging system to communicate with the team and management.
HCSS is a software company in the construction industry. I interned here as a UX Designer, where I built a chip component for use by other designers and developers, helping to streamline their organization of web icons.
CHI was founded by Farouk Shami, the inventor of the original Ceramic Flat Iron. I contributed by enhancing and updating the company website, designing visually appealing social media campaigns to boost traffic, and supporting customer engagement.
My journey into tech began in childhood when my friend Frank introduced me to gaming, from Duke Nukem on PC to Super Mario on Nintendo. Around the same time, I experimented with CorelDraw and discovered Xanga and GeoCities, which sparked my interest in web design. Curious about building websites, I taught myself Paint Shop Pro and web languages on createblog.com.
This passion led me to earn a BFA in Interactive Media from The Art Institute of Houston and work as a Professional Web Designer for over seven years in corporate settings. A class in Human-Centered Design shifted my focus to User Experience, inspiring me to pursue an MS in UX at Kent State University.
I recently completed a UX Design internship at HCSS and currently work at PetSmart as a Pet Associate. I love technology, care deeply about animal well-being, and enjoy spending time with family, belly dancing, and cuddling with my talkative cat, Dixie.
